Graphic Design – Product Design

A brand identity isn’t limited to the logo. It extends to all the media that carry it on a daily basis: packaging, brochures, objects, flyers, and large-format printed materials. At vrai studio, this application is an integral part of the art direction process; it isn’t outsourced to an external graphic designer once the identity has been approved, but is considered from the very beginning of the brand’s development.

M. Marcoult Champagne Label — Typography and Visual Identity Branding · vrai studio
This champagne brand has a strong visual identity; its flagship medium remains the label, which is built around bold typography and an elegant visual style that blends Champagne tradition with contemporary design. Typographic hierarchy is an essential element of the brand’s identity across all of M. Marcoult’s media.

Graphic Design

Graphic design involves applying a brand identity—including a logo, typefaces, colors, and visual elements—to all the materials a company needs: packaging, email signatures, sales presentations, exhibition materials, stationery, catalogs, and brochures. It’s a balancing act: each material must remain recognizable as part of the brand while adhering to the specific constraints of its format and purpose.

At vrai studio, graphic design is overseen by the same art director who created the brand identity, ensuring true consistency between the original logo and each of its variations—rather than a mechanical application of the style guide by a vendor who didn’t develop the brand.

In practical terms, this scope of work covers everything from one-time support to the editorial layout of a long-form document—such as a catalog, brochure, or brand book—where it is necessary to establish a grid and a reading hierarchy that holds up throughout the entire publication. It extends all the way to the production files sent to printers and manufacturers: templates, color profiles, and material specifications. A successful graphic design that is not accompanied by rigorous production files may be reproduced poorly or may even be impossible to produce. At vrai studio stage is handled with the same level of rigor as the design itself, in close coordination with production management.

Object design

Product design involves creating a physical object—such as large-scale packaging, a display accessory, a promotional item, or a custom-made piece—that conveys a brand’s identity in physical space, not just on a flat printed surface. This is a project that vrai studio successfully vrai studio for Procop, a paper supplier, by redesigning its paper guide in line with the brand’s artistic direction. For Olearius, this involved designing porcelain candles that extend the brand’s universe into an everyday object, as well as the enameled badge that marks the restoration of a Classic Land Rover by Elephant Factory Classic.

This work requires two key skills: a graphic sensibility specific to brand identity, and an understanding of the physical constraints of manufacturing an object—including materials, dimensions, and production costs. That is why, at vrai studio, it is directly linked to production management.
